RESTLESS EARTH
Autumn Term
This unit studies the structure of the Earth and the processes that lead to Tectonic Hazards. We will study earthquakes, volcanoes and tsunamis looking at causes, effects and management of these events.

CHANGING URBAN ENVIRONMENTS
Autumn Term
2007 marked the first year when more of the world's population lived in urban areas than rural. We will look at this process of urbanisation; consider the issues that arise from urbanisation in MEDCs and LEDCs as well as solutions. We will study urban areas in the UK, India and Brazil.

TOURISM
Spring Term
Spain, France, Italy or Galapagos, Antarctica, Australia? Where is the perfect holiday destination? How has toursim changed and what problems does it cause? How has tourism in the UK changed over the last 50 years?
This unit will be the focus of our Controlled Assessment in 2016.

CONTROLLED ASSESSMENT
Spring - Summer Term
Controlled Assessment is worth 25% of the final GCSE grade. It is based on a Fieldwork Investigation in which students collect data in order to prove or disprove their hypothesis. This year's focus is:
Investigate tourist honeypot site(s) within a locality.
